Once there is no more water in your home, shovel out the dirt and place all debris and garbage in large, heavy-duty garbage bags. After taking out all the garbage, hose and scrub the floor and all the areas that got wet with flood water. Use a good commercial cleaner to sanitize your home.

Keep all doors and windows open and use fans to let the air circulate in your home. Use the wet vacuum to get any water off the floor and other parts of the home. Use wash cloths, sponges and other materials that will help get your home completely dry.
