When you put up drywall on your ceiling or around your house, you need to know how to do it right and have the right tool to do the job. You need to have joint compound, mud, nails, a hammer, different types of knives, and a drywall sander. You must be very careful when you do this because it can fall on your head and hurt you. You need to wear a hard hat to protect your head. Let me tell you that stuff will hurt and give you a very bad headache and can give you a concussion.

When you put it up, you have to nail it in with long nails in the boards to make it stay up. Make sure that all the drywall is the same size before you put it up. When you get it all nailed up, then you need to put compound on it. Compound comes in two types. One type is in pre-mixed form, and the other is in the form of a powder that you have to mix yourself. It will be very messy so wear old clothes that you don’t care about getting ruined. It also can be hard to get off your skin, your shoes, and your hair as well. It takes a while to dry, so don’t paint on it until it is dry. You may want to let it dry overnight to make sure that it is good and dry.

You need to put on compound tape in the corner so there will not be any cracks in your work and so the job is done right. Make sure you cut it off with a type knife so it does not show. Put mud over the nails so they will not show in your work; put a good amount on there so it’s covered really well. After it is good and dry, then you need to take a drywall sander to it and sand it until it is smooth. It may take a while to sand it down, but it will look good. It will look like professionals put it up and worked on it. Make sure that there are not cracks or anything showing because then it will take you longer to get done with the house.

After it is all done, then you can start to paint it. You need to put on three coats of paint because it will soak in the drywall, and if you don’t, the paint job will look funny when you are done with it.
