Are you one of the lucky ones that might have a pool in your back yard? Can you keep it filled up with water? If you can say yes to either of these questions, are you safe when you or your friends get into your pool? With all of the utilities going up all the time and with the water hard to get in times of drought, do you make sure that this water is kept clean at all times? In times of drought, you might not be able to refill your pool if it should become dirty.
I know for a fact that some new homes that were built with an outdoor pool put into the yard weren't allowed to fill the pool at all. Even in cases like this, you will want to build a fence around the pool to keep out unwanted kids or even animals. If it rained overnight and this pool didn't have some fencing around it, something could fall in and drown.
Never leave a lot of water laying on the cement walkway where someone could fall and tell them they can never run. When you play water games these are to be a lot of fun, so make sure that everyone involved knows all the rules and plays safe. If there are small children in the pool make sure that they are watched at all times and if they start to get too rough, tell them that they need to get out for a while. Little children don't know that water can hurt them and hurt them bad. They just know that it's fun to get into water. If they don't know how to swim, have a baby pool that is separate from the bigger pool and have someone watch that pool at all times because these little kids will try to go over to the bigger pool.
In any types of pools, whether they are small, above ground, or under the ground, the same rules should be in effect before anyone is to be let in. If you have a dog and this dog jumps into your pool, you might have a mess to clean up because of all the hair this animal might lose, so it will be up to you whether you want to let the animal in or not. Most people will let this animal in because they like the water, too, and you will just remove all the hair and add some more chemicals to the water to remove the germs.
