It is ever so interesting when you learn and share management skills with others. Such skills can come in many different forms. I am thankful to learn from great role models such as Peter Drucker. Through learning from such wonderful individual, it has developed excellent opportunity for individuals like me to develop better in the area of management.

The first important lesson in management skills is to ensure good planning. It is important to plan well in leading and managing a team or project. In planning well for the team progress, he needs to set clear goals and communicate its objectives clearly to his team. A leader who manages well, has clear planning and strategies can achieve great success with the team.
In team work, there can be great challenges in communications as communications breakdown do occurs when working with the team. However, such challenges can be overcome with a leader with vast experiences, good communications and team management skills. He will be able to encourage the team to handle and meet the challenges in the project or work well. Also, he will be able to set clear objectives and guidelines for the task given and communicated it clearly to the team. Through such leadership and management, it can prevent potential problems and miscommunication in the progress of the task.
Secondly, good management skills need clear measurement guidelines for the team. Such measurement in the team includes measuring the team and individuals progress in the task. Through such measures, it will enable the team to learn about their strength and weaknesses. This encourages the team to develop their strengths, learn from their mistakes, be accountable for their actions and focus on improving themselves in future tasks.
Thirdly, such skills need courage and willingness to learn to overcome challenges. In the information age today, it is pretty inevitable that a leader who manages the team well is able to motivate and brings out the strength of his team members. Such leaders manage well through leading by example through their actions. He understand the importance of learning and encouraging innovation and enterprise spirits among the team members. Given the resources and funds available in a task or project, such leaders will be able to leverage on his team members strength well and achieve great success with the team.
Management skills takes great patience and experiences in learning. Individuals who develop well in such areas can achieve great success in their goals and tasks with their team.
