There are two categories of double strollers namely the ones that put babies in front of one another while the other one place the babies side by side.

The double stroller that put babies in front of one another has the advantage of easily going through all doors since it is almost the width of a normal stroller but relatively longer. The only problem is that they may be a bit difficult to control given their length.

The double stroller that put babies side by side has the disadvantage of requiring wider doors but has greater manoeuvrability since it is not that long.

Parents should be careful to choose a double stroller that has a solid structure that will be able to hold the weight of two babies. Parents should not compromise on the structure of the frame because there will be two babies in it compared to the common stroller.

Parents should also inspect the wheel of the double stroller well to see whether they are sturdy and well balanced. The wheels need to be able to carry the weight of two babies as well.

Another feature that should be considered when buying a double stroller is the braking system. The braking systems depend on the model of strollers and the company that manufacture them but usually the brakes are placed to the rear wheels. The inconvenient of this system is that it is only good for the strollers that place the children side by side but not that good for double strollers that put babies one before the other.

Before buying a double stroller parents need to consider the usage that they will make of the stroller and their particular lifestyle. They should take time to consider the various alternatives.
