A best thing to do when it is a nice summer day is to make a big barbecue dinner. The best part about having a barbecue is just doing something and enjoying the nice weather and maybe having a bunch of friends over and cook a meal. You could barbecue a lot of different things like hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs, and pork steaks. Whichever one you decide to cook it does not matter because they are all good.

For your sides you could make a potato salad or have cold slaw for a side dish. You could also make fresh corn on the cob and some other kind of vegetable. But to have all this food someone has to prepare it. So to prepare the main dish, whichever it is that your making, you have to put it on the grill at the right time so you do not over cook it by the time you want to have dinner. Then you have to boil potatoes, if you are having the potatoes salad, and cut up all the other stuff that goes into the dish.

Once the potatoes are done you have to cut them up into easy to bit pieces and then put the potatoes salad together. It is better if you make the potatoes salad ahead of time and then put it into the refrigerator for a while so that it gets cold. If your having the cold slaw you could just go out and but a package of it and make it easy on yourself or you could make it from scratch. Once you think the meat is almost done you should start to boil the corn so that by the time the meat is completely done your corn will also be done at the same time.

While everyone is waiting for dinner you could all sit around the table and talk and catch up with each other. The kids, if any, could also play games together like tag, football, or baseball. After everything is done you can set everything on the table and tell everyone to help him or herself. It is recommended that if you have a few people over to use paper plates so that after everyone has left it is easy and fast for you to clean up the mess. You could also sit outside and eat your dinner. Whatever you decide to make, having a barbecue is a great idea when you just want to be outside all day.
